On May 22nd About 30 boats had the pleasure of taking about 250 combat veterans from the War in Afganistan and Iraq.

All of the boats donated their time and fuel. We were fortunate to have many other sponsors. The grand prize winner got a new truck courtesy of Lithia Chevrolet of Anchorage. 2nd Place won a Dirt Bike from Anchorage Suzuki Arctic Cat, and 3rd place won a 4 wheeler from Alaska Mining and diving.

It was honor for all of us to take these soldiers fishing as because of them, we can do what we do.

There were countless volunteers to make this event happen.

The idea came about last season from the efforts of Bob C. of Saltwater Safari, and Keith M. from Specialty Truck and Auto.
This 2nd annual event was great to attend.

My personal thanks to our valued soldiers and the many sponsors and donors that mad this event possible. I hope that is is even bigger next year.

One of the soldiers that fished with me, told me that he was getting redeployed in 2 months for another year in the sand. He told me this effort on all parts would make it easier to get through the tour.(this left me very touched and feeling that we have done the right thing)

Good luck and good fishing to all.
