Fishing Magician Charters

Before I begin to tell you about my fishing trip today. I would like to warn you about the low,low tide in the Hopedale, Shell Beach areas at this time. If you are planning on a fishing trip tomorrow, this week or anytime please be careful.

I fished the Biloxi Marsh today around the Stumpt Lagoon area. It had the lowest tide I have seen in 40 years. My family had a camp in Bayou Laloutre by the mouth of Stumpt Lagoon. We used to spend many winters hunting and trapping. Believe me today had one low tide. I had to drift across part of Stumpt Lagoon because there was not enough water to put the motor down.

When I was on my way in, I spoke to my son Capt. Jason. He was on his way out to help some of his friends. They were high and dry in East Bayou. He could get to them, so the air boats were sent to rescue them in Lake Robin and in Lake Eugene, in the Biloxi Marsh.

So, guys if any of you plan to fish or hunt during the winter, please be very careful.

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Paul, Mike, and Todd from St. Louis. They came in for a couple of days of fishing. They have trips book with a couple of our local fishing guides. Mike and Todd have their own boats and want to learn some of the areas we fish. I did tell them that the best part of their idea is that they'll be able to learn something special from each guide. Not every guide goes to the same area and it is a great way to learn.

The Biloxi Marsh was where I took the guys today. We fished the Muscle Bay and Lake Eugene area. The guys caught their limit of:75 speckled trout and 6 sheepshead.

With the wind blowing hard and the tide so low, it really made for a tough day. What a difference a day can make. The water temperature yesterday was 63 degrees and today it was 53 degrees. All of our fish were caught with Campo's live shrimp 2' under a popping cork.

So if you want to catch some fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. Give us a call to book a day to remember. We have 4 boats running. All of our captains were born and raised on the bayous and lakes we fish in.

I do have 2 boat slips available for rent in Shell Beach.
