I don't know where Al gore is today but I wish he would bring his global Warming thing up to Alaska. We have had what seem like 12 months of winter, and only now is the sun finally breaking through the snow clouds and a person can feel a little solar gain. The Cook Inlet was flat calm from East to West shores and even with the hight fog (I thought is was snowing again when i woke up today) it felt great. We got up to 48 degrees and now I can post this report that we may finally be Open for the Season. (Darn it, the Anchorage news said to expect some snow showers in the next couple of days) I am still painting the bottom of my boat "No Problem" and then if I can remember where I left the keys I will tow it to the Homer Harbor and launch it again for my 22 year. Some charters have made it out a few miles for some early Halibut and King Salmon fishing and they are finding fish. We know it is Tourist Season when the local tackle shops start selling tourist licenses, but why do they call it tourist season if you aren't allowed to shoot them?
Sorry PETA, time to prepare for the onslaught of killing tons of halibut for 2008, they taste so good too!. Come on up to Alaska and if you are already here come on down to Homer for the very best in offshore Halibut fishing.

Bob,

Thanks for the encouraging word, I can tell you all over in Seward, it is still winter. And you are right, where is AL Gore for this crap. To cold to paint, or touch up the gel coat.

Good luck on the season, we will try and not intercept all the hogs before they get to your part of the world.

Jim
